EDITOR'S CHOICE
- 04
"You rarely have time for everything you want in this life, so you need to make choices. And hopefully, your choices can come from a deep sense of who you are."
A collection of brett's favorite moments...
but maybe a wolf can
surreal and serendipitous, this photograph brings such joy and tranquility. we had an incredibly short period to capture it and yet its just a photograph.
the outskirts
"but i was going to tosche station to pick up power converters." a unique take on the frame within a frame technique.
forever a memory
capping a day in ireland, the rays of golden sunshine cut through the scenery blessing us with a beautiful ending to a lovely day.
good boy
this dog came running up to us as we pulled off to admire this waterfall in iceland. the lighting on the day wasn't great, but this dog makes the whole picture.
just over the walls
another impression of this luscious garden. perhaps it's the shadow on the gate that absolutely draws me in.
on an icy lake
ice fishers flocked to this frozen lake. rather remarkable experience to walk out to the middle of a lake hearing slight cracks each step you take.
here at ed's
after a weekend of filming, i captured this to commemorate the time.
empathy
there was something human about the way this dog's eyes were able to seemingly communicate emotion.
a gentle fall
nothing special here and i cant put a finger on why i like this photo. perhaps it's the colors or perhaps it's the shadows.
north bend
had to pull over, run back, and wait for the right moment to get this image. and even with all that, the light is doing most of the work.
i close my eyes and there you are
i don't normally do portrait photography, but do love the subtleties of this photo.
our town
a still life on a larger scale. finding subjects that interest you come in all sorts of unexpected places.
grateful
what a perfect day for some of the people i care about most. was so happy for them that day.
fairytale
on the Cé Dhún Chaoin, this couple extends a level of grandeur to the scale and fantasy of the landscape.
friends
just a candid of friends after a normal night going out.
happyness
This part of my life, this part right here? This is called 'happiness'.
bicycle by the beach
this is a smell the roses photograph. the bicycle at rest also faintly speaking to slowing down and taking a moment to explore and enjoy your surroundings.
the coast of sodor
in a continuation of a few images entertaining the look and feel of a model train set, this coastline does indeed bear an artificiality as though the waves and structures were mere miniature.
an ode to a lazy river
a father and his kids. siblings on vacation. a nap on a river. these days it is the small moments that truly count.
its like a dove in the morning
everyone hates getting up early, but when do we actually regret it. the fresh air, the sunrise, the sense of productivity. some of our favorite memories are getting up early to do something or because we're somewhere. so why is it so hard?
grand tour
the light that day was just right on the edges of crater lake.
upon reflection
suppose there is a bit of yourself in every painting if you are looking for it. here i would say the same about a photograph.
americana 1
the Americana Hotel shutdown in 2021 as another victim of the pandemic.
americana 2
the 102 room, 60's interior, rooftop neon sign hotel operated for nearly 50 years.
americana 3
subject to another condominium buyout, the hotel's iconic look will wash away into doldrum-like apartments.
