"What's happened, happened, it's an expression of faith in the mechanics of the world, it's not an excuse to do nothing."
happy birthday kid
in the city's tumultuous landscape, i audibly encountered this birthday celebration. i hope this kid had a day that made them feel like the world and everything in it could wait just one more day and they could be a kid in the fullest sense.
ive brought my corduroy bear
this little laundromat had such character. while this photograph is not particularly captivating, i do find this to be reminiscent of something that would be found in a storybook.
draped in glory
staggering image of a torn and tattered massive american flag that is draped across the edge of a bridge in washington DC.
the train has left the station
nobody travels by train anymore. even i haven't been on a train more than once or twice. it's a pity it's not quite economical because its quite enjoyable to travel through city and countryside and daydream something new.
business in hornafjörður
the static urban atmosphere in east iceland. the separation of color here i felt would particularly lend itself to film.
available
part of a few images that i took during the pandemic that I think spoke to me as being looked over as a direct result of the pandemic. this 'available' table outside a place that didn't survive.
one drink before i go
a photograph of striking undertone. i just enjoy the faint details i knew would be the only element captured in the dormant bar.
as simple as going for a walk
im proud of this picture. not because i feel like it fits the 'street photography' stereotype, my pride resides on the fact that on this day i hadn't really felt like going out and shooting. but i went anyway and captured this.
a cure for wellness
looking into this locally owned and eerie health center, it's the opening stage of an indie horror film. the purple hue blanketing the white textiles.
pastels
lines and soft shades of color define this image. unlike most of my photography, its one i oddly come back to and therefore decidedly thought it must be among those listed.
fog happens
arlington memorial bridge on a bitter day with the most mysterious layer of fog over the potomac.
urban corridor
such a veiled portion of dc, the watergate surely has been living past its hay-day and remains to live its days out in the quiet shadows.
spontaneous encounter
wish i had gotten a slightly different advantage of this friendly encounter, but it was rather busy that day and i snapped the photograph. i think still holds up to that feeling of good nature.
save me a seat
on a hazy afternoon, on a weekday, in a year thats a few too many since this old bus and seat have been used, it sort of sat on the edge of the street waiting. set aside.
five bells
absolutely love this landscape of the harbor in dingle, ireland. the boats, the green hills, and blue sky giving a sense of calmness and peace.
bookie's corner
picturing a speakeasy in the back of this corner grocery where bookies and betters hangout to drink, smoke, and watch the horse races.
the concrete jungle
so much about new york city is baked into the streets that there is a level of obscurity among so much character. Sort of like the "only in a crowd do you have anonymity".
a wash in rain showers
off the black sand beaches of vik, a set of sinks sit on the edge of a parking lot. amidst a light shower, i found the scene rather ironic.
